Now,IMPORTANT: the field stop, obviously, must be smaller than the diameter of the barrel of the eyepiece, otherwise it would not fit in. This is what dictates the lower limit for the diameter of the barrel. The barrel must be bigger than the field stop. You need to increase the barrel diameter when the field stop grows too big.
