With a carefully planed strategy we could use a bunch of asteroids to transfer a bit of Jupiter's orbital energy to Earth's. With current technology we would be able to move our planet at a rate that allow us to mantain a priviledged position in the habitable zone of our star as it gets hotter (and thus the habitable zone gets farther away). arxiv.org/pdf/astro-ph/0102126.pdf | |
