If I remember right, in the pisode of Cosmos dedicated, among others, to cometary objects, the Kuiper belt was graphically rendered as a spherical distribution of dots.

This surprised me as I thought that it should be somehow a disk or a torus, given the solar system rotational momentum.

Indeed Wikipedia says the latter.

Is (supposed) the Kuiper belt a sort of disk or a spheroid?

If the latter holds, has this been established from the various direction the comets are coming from?
